AgriDigital founders Bob McKay, Ben Reid and Emma Weston have a deep knowledge of agricultural supply chains. With over 80 years of combined agricultural experience, they’ve grown, traded, exported and marketed grain globally. Prior to founding AgriDigital in late 2015, the three worked together at Australian grain broking and marketing pioneer, Agfarm which was originally founded by Bob. Bob and Emma also co-founded Australia’s first online grain broking and clearing house, Clear Grain.
Bob, Ben and Emma have seen and experienced the inefficiencies in the agricultural supply chain first hand. In Emma's words: "we all knew there was a better way; and that by using emerging technologies we could create cost-effective, efficient and world-leading agri-commodity management and supply chain solutions that would have global impact."
“Supply chains are really complex with multiple participants, lots of double-entry, and manual handling. It’s hard to match payments with title and asset transfers. There’s a real lack of transparency and trust. We set about designing a platform that solved these problems,” says Bob. And Ben agrees, "managing grain from farm to consumer should not be so complex; we work with our customers to simplify and increase the efficiency of their indiviudal operations; we can then incrementally improve the whole of supply chain experience."
Enter AgriDigital, the world’s first cloud-based, multi-participant, commodity management platform. All the players across the agricultural supply chain - farmers, buyers, storage operators and in time, even consumers – can operate and interact on one platform for the transaction of their commodities the world over.
We have started in Australia and with grain; but this is just the beginning. Our vision is to make global agricultural supply chains simple, easy and secure - from farmer to consumer. We believe that anyone, anywhere, should be be able to trade and finance their agricultural commodities with confidence. The AgriDigital team is full of passionate and dedicated people who are making this happen.
The AgriDigital team continues to grow here in Australia and overseas. With new releases planned and underway in Australia, AgriDigital is planning its platform launch in Canada and the United States of America in 2019.
