Business Analyst

Employment Context

AgriDigital develops solutions to real world problems in the agri-sector that bring transparency, efficiency, and trust to farmers and the post-farmgate ecosystem. In addition to our agri-blockchain and SaaS commodity management solutions, we are exploring opportunities such as flexible supply chain finance, simple on-farm contract management for farmers, and solutions for the livestock and cotton industries.


Position Purpose

We are looking for talented and ambitious Business Analysts (BA) to take the lead on exciting development projects for the AgriDigital Platform’s feature roadmap. These opportunities include a broad spectrum of project areas including commodity management features, trade finance solutions, blockchain, IOT integration and expansion into new commodities and geographies. As the BA on these projects, you will need to engage with customers to understand requirements and opportunities, convert this into development requirements for the AgriDigital development pipeline and then ensure the delivered features meet the requirements prior to being released to customers.   


Goals include: Delivering projects efficiently and to plan, consistently exceed customer expectations and continue to position AgriDigital as the leading software solution for agri-commodity supply chains.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create, manage and socialise agile project roadmaps with time estimates and critical milestones
  • Collect relevant information through data analysis, customer and subject matter expert discussions, workshops etc. relating to feature requirements
  • Distinguish user requests to determine the underlying product requirements
  • Specify and document the feature requirements and user flows, with an emphasis on how the feature fits into the AgriDigital user experience
  • Work with UX designer to prototype the features and refine the UX as the prototype evolves
  • Coordinate feedback sessions with customers and experts to evolve the feature and prototypes to production ready concepts
  • Collaborate with the appropriate Technical Leads and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision, and find the balance between usability and performance needs
  • Collaborate with the Iterations Manager to break projects down into development cards with clear and thorough acceptance criteria
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of projects to ensure the AgriDigital quality philosophies are upheld and customers expectations are exceeded
  • Collaborate with the Iterations Manager to schedule feature releases and ensure customer communications and education initiatives are planned and delivered accordingly
  • Convince others that your creative ideas are worth investing time and effort in - this role is at the core of the operations and sales team, and others will rely on your work every single day
  • Maintain a professional, positive, and logic-based attitude and approach to customer-facing content and interactions 

  • Investigate and trial the latest digital communication and customer experience technologies
  • Maintain curiosity and keep up with developments in the field (technical, industry and sector-based) so as to be able to contribute to AgriDigital’s strategy and operations 

  • Develop and extend relationships with stakeholders and industry participants 

  • Promote and extend the AgriDigital brand and Vision and Values 

  • Demonstrate a commitment to your safety and wellbeing and that of AgriDigital employees, contractors and colleagues through promoting a safety conscious work environment and culture 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar in relevant discipline 

  • 3+ years project management, CX, BA, technology product development, or similar
  • Excellent writer and communicator, able to lead and communicate cross-functionally with engineering and other departments, and externally across stakeholders and customers with engaging and thought provoking content
  • Self-starter who is willing to take accountability for deliverables and consistently exceed expectations
  • Creative and strategic thinker, driven by intuition but able to gut check and course-correct with data, as well as report results and optimize using data 

  • General IT fluency
  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritize 

  • Team player, willing to work collaboratively in a high-energy, fast-moving, start up environment 

  • Enthusiasm for and experience in the agriculture industry a plus
